Simulation 2016

The virtual product and process development chain, from press plant to paint shop

Boosting CAE efficiency

Given the background of increasing vehicle product complexity, growing numbers of models and model variants, and great cost efficiency demands, a reliable, fast and continuous product and process simulation is of paramount importance in automotive development. Having said that, improvement in the virtual development chain is not only governed by progress in the CAE tools themselves, but also by steps towards a more harmonic interplay between such tools – and by an intelligent data management.

With a focus on the virtual development chain from the car body concept to car body part construction and production, to joining these parts in the body shop and to the completed car body leaving the paint shop, the international Automotive Circle conference Simulation again addressed these issues in Bad Nauheim, Germany, on 5 and 6 October 2016.

Bringing together its international network of automotive expert engineers, the conference highlighted newest developments pertaining to the topic, with progress reports by trailblazing OEM, software developers, tier 1 suppliers as well as relevant research institutions.
