Joining in Car Body Engineering 2019

Flexibility and Efficiency

Seemingly contrary goals govern joining technology development in modern car body engineering: A growing number of material combinations and joint types each require the best possible joining technology, whereas the complexity and multitude of different technologies in the body shop should be minimized for cost efficiency reasons - despite increasing model variety. Ideally, applications windows for existing joining technologies can be widened, enhancing their flexibility. However, promising new joining technologies remain equally interesting, just as efficient smart factory approaches and the continous simulatability of all body shop processes.

Competently discussing newest developments in this field is the goal of the annual Automotive Circle conference "Joining in Car Body Engineering", assembling its expert networt of international automobile engineers again in Bad Nauheim, Germany, from 9 to 11 April 2019. Current progress reports from trailblazing OEM, important system supplier innovations as well as practice-relevant ideas of renowned research institutions will be the basis of these discussions.

The modules focus on the following topics:

  • 10 - 11 April: Module 1 - Adhesive Bonding and Hybrid Bonding
  • 11 - 12 April: Module 2 - Thermal and Mechanical Joining
