Flexibility in multi-variant manufacturing

Working in cooperation with the BMW Group, the Automotive Circle is running an Insight Assembly Conference at the Group’s Dingolfing plant from 24 to 25 October 2018. The emphasis will be on the subject of "Flexibility in Multi-Variant Manufacturing”. You will get to know one of the most important competence centres of the BMW Group and discuss intelligent routes towards versatile, state-of-the-art final assembly with our network.

The Dingolfing plant is already making BMW 5 and 7 plug-in hybrids on the same production lines as combustion engine vehicles, in a mixture of both types. By integrating the BMW iNext and a purely electric vehicle, the need for flexibility in the assembly of different drive types will increase additionally.

Our high-calibre assembly network gives you an opportunity to discuss the way final assembly in automotive engineering is impacted by the increasing diversity of different models and by new forms of engines:

  •  What methods does your company use to meet the rising demand for flexibility and to manage the increasing production of new engine types and the proliferation of derivatives?
  • What planning, organisational and technological requirements do manufacturers and suppliers need to meet in order to master increasing complexity?
  • How do logistical supply processes need to be adjusted, so that they can support flexibility in assembly?
  • What technological innovations, automation systems and software solutions are available to optimise versatile assembly?

The detailed conference programme will be published in July 2018. You can already pre-order your copy here!

We’d very much like to hear from you!

So do please come along and submit your paper proposal online until 30 April.

We look forward to your in-depth technical report and intensive exchange of information with you!
