Battery Systems in Car Body Engineering 2018

Electric vehicles? This challenge has long been accepted by the automotive industry, and the development towards increasingly electrified vehicles is well underway.

This also creates new demands and issues for vehicle body manufacturing. For instance, what do the new crash load paths look like? Can the battery box serve as a structural element? What adjustments need to be made in the selection of materials and in joining technology? What kind of solutions are feasible in the heat management of batteries? Are there certain areas where the new processes impact collaboration between the various trades that are involved? What production technologies are available or need to be developed?

These and other questions will be at the focus of a one-day conference entitled "Battery Systems in Car Body Engineering” in Bad Nauheim on 12 June 2018. You are welcome to submit a proposal for a presentation in one of the following thematic areas:

  • Special features of vehicle body and battery design, e.g. concerning the weight of the vehicle body, heat management, crash load paths, etc.
  • Efficient solutions in heat management, its impact on battery design and its integration into the vehicle body
  • Use of new and proven joining technologies
  • Latest solutions in battery module and cell assembly
  • New requirements (e.g. on cleanliness and safety) and solutions in manufacturing technology
